Happy Easter

Evelyn decided to start her day at 6 a.m., I guess someone told her that there would be CHOCOLATE. Needless to say she was grounded by her very over-tired and grumpy mom (who only got 3 hours of sleep). Part of her punishment included a ban on chocolate for the day but Jason fed Evelyn chocolate for breakfast. She had chocolate and bananas. Whenever she eats banans she turns into a monkey.
It was a good thing that Aunt Robin was able to attend our ward, we needed an extra hand with the monkey, since Jason was sitting on the stand during Sacrament meeting. Jason sang a solo in the Dixon Ward's Easter Cantata. Evelyn recognized her daddy's voice right away. She loves hearing him sing, and I do, too. I enjoyed the Cantata, especially being reminded why we celebrate Easter because of the Atonement and resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ.
After church the family (Uncle Michael, Aunt Janet, Aunt Robin, Aunt Carol and Uncle Tony) came over for a very delicious dinner. Thank you to everyone. After dinner we had an Easter Egg Hunt. Evelyn thought that they were balls and threw them onto the gravel path in the backyard. She also refused to use either of her baskets (she has 2) but used her princess ride-a-long to collect the eggs.

Evelyn sure enjoyed her chocolate easter bunny
Evelyn thought that she needed to hide Aunt Carol's toes with the easter grass. Maybe she thought Aunt Carol's painted toe nails were little easter eggs.

All in all it was a wonderful day to be able to spend time with family, feel the spirit and enjoy our little girl discover the world, even if I only had 3 hours of sleep.
