It was one of those wonderful crazy Sundays. I survived teaching my R.S. lesson. I was called in December to be the Teaching for Our Times teacher in Relief Society in the Dixon Ward. I couldn't believe that they wanted me to teach Relief Society. Surely, I couldn't be old enough to do that! My lessons come from the General Conference sessions. I'm still nervous but enjoying it and learning a lot. Jason fell asleep in choir practice. I know, how do you fall asleep in choir practice? But he did! The men were being dismissed early and the guys were going to leave Jason there while the women continued to practice. Good thing he woke up in time.
Actually Jason has history of falling asleep at church. He's even fallen asleep on the stand when he went up to bear his testimony. He went up there and sat down to wait his turn and fell asleep. He woke up and saw that someone else had gone up to the pulpit and he fell asleep again. He eventually woke up and bore his testimony before the meeting was over.
During Sunday school, Theron Anderson the Gospel Doctrine Teacher gave the most wonderful gospel comparison example. He compared the joy of the gospel to the Best Spaghetti You've Ever Had. It was pretty funny but powerful. It's our responsibility to offer a taste of that spaghetti to others.
That evening we invited the Bairs (Jeremy, Brandy, Eva, and Addison) over for dinner ( we had lasagna not spaghetti). Evelyn was so excited when she saw Eva (5 yrs old) and Addison (16 mos), we had to pull her away so they could get in the door. She immediately ran over to them and started handing out her foam alphabet letters. I guess she likes having people her size over to play. They had a lot of fun dancing and playing with toys.
