It's a girl, a boy, or a dragon?

I had my ultrasound appointment today. You know the big one when you can find out whether you're having a boy or a girl. When I was pregnant with Evelyn we weren't able to find out that she was girl during the appointment. The appointments are only about fifteen minutes long and they mostly check for the development of the baby and take measurements of growth. Well, Jason says that we got jipped with Evelyn's appointment. During those fifteen minutes she kept her legs crossed when we were trying to sneak a peak. Of course they weren't crossed the entire time, when the Dr. was examining her head or heart she would kick her leg up. The Dr. would then try to take a peak and she would have her legs crossed again. What a little tease. We ended up going to one of those 3D imaging places to find out that she was a girl.

Yesterday, I explained to Evelyn that we were going to take Mommy to the Dr. and they would tell us if we were having a baby girl or a baby boy. She looked at me and said," A baby dragon?" I was quite surprised at this request. She watched Disney's cartoon Pete's Dragon a couple of months ago and has been stuck on dragons ever since. When we go to the library we get books about dragons, there's an imaginary dragon in her room, and Uncle B (my brother) is a dragon because he built a fire for our S'mores in during his last visit.

Well, we're not expecting a baby dragon; Evelyn's going to have a baby sister instead. Jason and I were so certain it was a boy. I had a couple of dreams about having a boy and Jason just knew. Boy, were we wrong. We already had a few boys’ names picked out and now we have the fun of finding a name for our little girl. But we're both so excited to welcome another sweet little girl into our family.

  1. Julie! I didn't know you were expecting till I chatted with Bryan on facebook. How exciting! I hope your pregnancy is going well! When I was pregnant with Keira, I had the same dream over and over and it was very detailed, and it was a baby boy, he had dimples like Taylor and everything, I knew it had to be a boy. But at our ultrasound the tech said it's a girl, I was so surprised, and she said, "you can't go by a dream, I dreamed I was going to have triplets and luckily that didn't happen!" haha! I was so giddy all day when I found out it was a girl. Taylor grew up with all boys, so his mom was ecstatic to be a first time Grandma & it was a girl. Take care!
