Evelyn's First Fish!

Lake Chabot at Dan Foley Park, Vallejo, CA

Evelyn caught her first fish, a little blue gill, at 21 months barely beating out her cousin Jonas, who was 22 months when he caught his first fish there. It is a Tibbetts' tradition to catch your first fish at Lake Chabot in Dan Foley Park in Vallejo. Jason caught his first fish there and took our nephews Liam and Jonas to catch their first fish. Jason was three years old when he caught his fish. He liked it so much that he brought it home in a bucket of water and it lived on his porch for three days. Okay it really didn't live that long but I think that was as long as he was allowed to keep it on the porch.

Unfortunately Evelyn wasn't as excited about her, when Jason pulled it up for her to get a better look she screamed just like you would expect a little girl to do. In fact, she was more interested in the water than in the fish. She kept playing with the water in the bucket and I had to pull her out of the lake a few times. I'm sure when she gets older she'll like fishing more but for now it's Eeww! and playing in the Luty lu as she calls water.
